What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas except for this information regarding a partnership between Audi and Nvidia that trickled out post CES 2010. In the announcement, the graphics card maker Nvidia will supply Audi with Tegra 2 graphics processors that the German car maker can then use to power its in car dashboards that come equipped with integrated GPS and a basic menu system. Use of the new video processors will treat Audi drivers to a more clear display, 3D visual graphics, and faster information processing for both points of interest and GPS directions. Additionally, the processor cards will offer some energy savings as they are said to use ten times less power consumption.
Expect to see Nvidia graphics in all 2010 Audi models and for those interested, Audi is working to integrate Google Earth maps in its 2011 Audi A8 model, which will certainly be a step up from the typical navigational systems out there.
