AMD has announced their budget video card, the ATI Radeon HD 5670. Priced at under $100, the ATI video card is the only graphics card on the market today to fully support DirectX 11.
The 5670 comes with significant processing power, 620 GigaFLOPS worth, which when combined with 1000MHz GDDR5 memory, improves the gaming experience for such game titles as Battlefield: Bad Company 2, GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat and Codemaster’s Colin McRae: DiRT 2. Some of the benchmarks performed have demonstrated a 20% performance improvement over competing cards, something that will please video gamers. The 5670 is also backwards compatible, supporting DirectX 9, DirectX 10, DirectX 10.1 as well as OpenGL titles and thanks to the inclusion of ATI Eyefinity technology, the 5670 supports up to 3 separate display screens.
The ATI Radeon HD 5670 is available immediately, with the 512MB version retailing for $99.99 whereas the 1GB version is priced slightly higher at $119.
