Asus DR570

The Asus DR-570 color e-book reader may have surfaced on the tech scene just recently but now that it has been outed, information about this new book reader is starting to flow.

What we do know about the DR-570 is that it will come with 5.7-inch OLED (organic light emitting diode) display screen capable of supporting a 768×1024 display resolution and a 0.03 screen refresh rate. The refresh rate on this device clocks in about 23 times faster then what is seen on the Amazon Kindle and other similar gadgets.

Additionally, the Asus reader will include 512MB SDRAM, 4GB flash memory with SDHC expansion and an extremely long life battery (1,530mAh) rated for 122 hours. The book reader also includes integrated 3G and WiFi connectivity as well as some interesting multimedia features such as a built-in audio/video/flash player, web browser, RSS feed reader and text to speech engine.

As it stands, the DR-570 will be out before the end of 2010, as AsusTek Computers is still finalizing deals with content partners.
