The timing of the Archos Tablet leak seems a bit interesting in light of Apple’s media event today. Earlier today, details of a new Archos Tablet appeared on an online UK retailer site which was promptly removed shortly thereafter.

The new tablet looks quite similar to an earlier tablet, the Archos 5 which featured 800×480 pixel resolution, the main difference being the Archos 7 comes with a bigger screen, a 7-inch display screen to be exact.
Like it’s smaller brother, the Archos 7 will be powered by Google Android but because it does not meet all of the necessary hardware requirements imposed by Google, the Archos 7 will not have access to some Adroid features such as the Android Marketplace. Although there are online hacks available to enable some features, this is not mainstream knowledge and can potentially effect the sale of these units.
Outside of this, the Archos 7 will also include 8GB of internal storage, a webcam and will have measurements of 203x107x12mm. There are no details in today’s leak about the processor that will power this tablet.
