Apple TV Goes Live With No Internal Storage

As was to be expected today, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has unveiled their new Apple TV set top box. The new units are streamlined from earlier models, being smaller in their overall physical dimensions as well as having a new look.

With the new design, Apple has set the focus on both TV and movie rentals with devices coming with no internal storage. Digital streaming is what Apple TV is all about. Through these boxes, you will be able to stream digital content directly to your personal computer and you will also be able to rent featured shows.

An HD TV show rental will cost you $0.99 while an HD movie rental will run you $4.99. The best part about the movie rentals is that they will be current releases that will be available on the same day that they are released on DVD. Apple TV will also include Netflix streaming and has connectivity through wired Ethernet, WiFi and HDMI. Finally, there will also be connectivity with other Apple iOS products like the iPhone or iPad whereby you will be able to stream content to your Apple TV using AirPlay.

Apple TV will sell for $99 and will be available in about 1 month.
