
Apple has quietly announced their newest Time Capsule, a device that is a hybrid between a wireless router and network hard drive. Their latest edition is a 2TB model which is ample storage space to support automated network backups from multiple MAC workstations running the Leopard operating system and Time Machine software.
The Time Capsule storage devices will come standard with a server grade hardware, 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports and a dual-radio 802.11n base station.
The new 2TB model will retail for $499. Along with this announcement, Apple also advised of a price drop on the 1TB model to $299 and that the 500GB storage device will be discontinued.
