There have been many rumours lately that Apple will indeed be launching their sixth generation iPhone or iPhone 5 later this year and these constant rumours seem to have been affecting the sales of the current iPhone models that are available. Many users have been using a wait and see approach, looking to find out if indeed Apple will make any kind of official announcement regarding the next iPhone.
Though Apple has not released any official confirmation about the device, they did address the fact that rumours have impacted sales. For many years now, Apple has managed to surpass expectations that have been placed on them by financial analysts, but this last quarter was a different story with Apple failing to meet expectations. There were a few causes that Apple executives cited for this including the global economy, the US dollar and also the constant rumours. In regards to the rumours, execs were happy to hear that consumers are looking forward to the next iPhone model, but in no way was Apple going to go on the record to say just when the new device will be available, thereby squashing rumours. As such, rumours about a new iPhone will continue up until the day that Apple decides to make it official.
