Let the web browser wars commence as Apple Safari 4 goes into public beta.
The latest Safari browser comes packed with 150 features and lays claim as the world’s fastest browser. The speed improvements that Safari has gained are due to a new Javascript engine known as Nitro which allows it to be up to 3x faster then Firefox and 30 times faster then Internet Explorer 7.
Additional new features included in Safari 4 include:
Top Sites – Safari automatically identifies your favorite sites and displays them as a wall of stunning graphical previews.
Tabs On Top – Safari integrates tabs at the top of your browser window, giving you more room to enjoy your favorite sites.
Smart Address Field – As you begin to type an address in the address field, Safari automatically completes it with the most likely match — called the Top Hit — and highlights it.
Databases – Safari is the only browser that includes tools for managing the offline databases that will be part of the next generation of websites.
