Unconfirmed rumors are circulating that Rogers Canada, a cell phone carrier, will soon be shipping the iPhone 3GS 8GB handsets to it’s local retailers. Although this is still a rumor, it does seem credible considering that as supplies of the iPhone 3G dwindle, Rogers will need to transition to a new model.
The question that still needs to be answered is how much with the new handset cost? Will Rogers keep the same price of $99 that the iPhone 3G sells for or do they recognize that they have a potential moneymaker on their hand and as a result elect to increase prices to help the bottom line and shareholders alike.
Time will tell, but this should get interesting.
