Apple held true to their promise and US pre-orders for the Apple iPad tablet have begun today. Orders are being accepted through the US Apple store for both the WiFi and 3G versions.
The WiFi version is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB with pricing set at $499, $599 and $699 respectively. The WiFi + 3G iPad is also available with the same 16GB, 32GB and 64GB specifications though pricing is set at $130 more then the equivalent WiFi version. In addition to the purchase price, the 3G version will also require a 3G data plan which in the US is offered through AT&T for $14.99 (250MB/month) or $29.99 (unlimited plan).
Delivery for the WiFi iPad will be on April 3rd. If a Saturday delivery is unavailable in your region, delivery will take place on the next business day, Monday, April 5, 2010. The WiFi+3G iPad delivery will be at a later date and international orders are expected to begin in late April, though no firm dates are available at this time.
