Apple [AAPL] officially confirmed that on January 27, 2010, they will be holding a media event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco, California, where they plan to show off their “latest creation”. The invitations that went out today come with the Apple logo front and center, surrounded by paint splatter.
It’s not hard to read into the artwork and the Apple’s choice of words “latest creation” and speculate that this will be the day that the long awaited Apple tablet (iSlate or iGuide) will finally be announced. Needless to say, speculation is rampant on this. If the rumors are correct, we should see the Apple tablet go on sale later this year, with some industry insiders indicating that sales could begin as early as March 2010.
