Most people who own smartphones likely have apps that allow live streaming video and live broadcasting, but iPhone users have been languishing in the dark for the longest time. But now iPhone users have reason to rejoice — Ustream’s Live Broadcaster as finally hit the App Store.
The iPhone has enjoyed delayed broadcasting for a while with the Qik app, but was limited for a long time by its WiFi-only attribute. The Knocking app also let iPhone users stream live video when it hit the App Store last week. But Ustream’s Live Broadcaster is the first-ever App to let iPhone users broadcast their videos live.
Of course, this is only good news for iPhone users — other smartphone users may wonder just what the ruckus is all about. So if you’re an iPhone user and would like to start broadcasting your videos live, go right ahead — but don’t expect your friends to share your excitement.
Ustream’s Live Broadcaster also has a local record mode, which lets you turn your iPhone into a video camera. Unfortunately, videos are only at 320×240 pixel resolution, but can immediately be uploaded to Ustream, YouTube, Twitter, or Facebook.
