In Sunday’s Super Bowl game, there was a commercial about the upcoming animated feature called Rio. Hidden within this ad was a means by which Angry Bird fans could unlock a secret level on the highly popular game that is found on an enormous number of Mac computers, iPhones, iPod Touches and iPads.

The secret code was revealed at about the 26 second mark of this 32 second commercial at which point you can see a couple of characters from the upcoming movie Rio in the foreground, but its in the background that you must pay attention. Behind these characters, you’ll see the red bird, a golden egg and the numbers 13-12 painted on a wooden wall.

This is not a joke, but to reveal the golden egg, you have to go to level 13-12 and find the white bird which you must shoot backwards after which you then drop an egg. Doing this will reward the Angry bird gamer a golden egg that is shaped like a football and when you complete this level, you can also enter a contest for a chance to go to the premiere of Rio.

Angry Birds has been developed by the publisher Rovio, who anticipates releasing a Rio version of the game on March 22, 2011 which will coincide with the movie release.
