Android Swype Beta Version Leaked

Most are familiar with QWERTY keyboards that are common on smartphones whereby users use the traditional hunt and peck typing method to complete a text message. A newer input method that has become available is called Swype with which mobile users move their finger across the virtual keyboard from one character to the next while the predictive technology completes the words of the email. When it comes to Swype vs QWERTY, some comment that they are able to achieve faster typing speeds with Swype.

Swype is available for the Samsung Omnia II which is powered by Windows Mobile. The company that developed Swype has been working on a Android version which in time was to be made available on upcoming Android phones. However, DroidMuff.in has managed to get a leaked beta copy, so if you’re the adventurous type and would like a sneak preview of the new typing software, it is available. It should be noted that the installer will not work with all Android handsets, it will only work with WVGA phones (Motorola DROID or Nexus One), so if you have a Droid Eris or HTC Hero, you will need to wait until an official release that supports these phone models.
