Amazon Kindle Fire 2

Google may have their Nexus 7 tablet out this month and Apple is said to be launching a mini-iPad in October, but not to be outdone is Amazon. Rumor has it that the online electronics retailer will be launching their next generation Kindle Fire.

The launch of a Kindle Fire 2 should be a given considering just how many millions of first generation Android powered Kindle Fires that were sold. With the new model, Amazon will reach out to their regular business partners in Quata, a Taiwanese company that has already been approved to manufacture 2 million units. Based on the rumors, Amazon isn’t waiting to launch the new device which makes sense or they could very possibly lose market share to Google shortly. If the rumors are correct, the Kindle Fire 2 will be available by the end of this month or at the very latest, next month.

A new Kindle Fire model is much needed for Amazon. With sales of the first generation model now slowing down to a crawl, a Kindle Fire 2 would hopefully excite customers to open their wallet. What could even entice them more is the possibility that deep discounts will be available on the Kindle Fire 1 with Amazon looking to clear them out at a rock bottom price of $149.
