Amazon Kindle App For Google Android Available At The Market

by Mike on June 29, 2010

In mid May, it was reported that an Amazon Kindle App for Android devices was on the way and now we’ve got confirmation that the app is available as a free download through the Android marketplace.

The minimum requirements to use the app are fairly minimal in that you must have a device that is running at least Android 1.6. With the Kindle app, mobile users will have access to Amazon’s ebook library which contains 600,000 books, newspapers and magazines. With the Kindle app, you will have the option of buying any literature that you like and the purchasing process is quite easy. A small quirk that was observed is the transaction is not restricted entirely to the Kindle app itself, but will require a web browser in the process to complete after which the browser will close, returning you to Kindle.
