When I used to watch old footage of musicians in the 50s and 60s on stage smashing their guitars at the end of a concert, I thought it was there way of making a statement or expressing their anger against the government.
Who would have known that the reality was so different. It could very well have been that they were simply swatting flies on stage. In 2008, there is no longer a need to smash your cherished guitar for this reason as you can now pick up a plastic flyswatter shaped as an acoustic electric guitar.
