Acer Google Chrome Netbook

It’s only been a few weeks since Google’s Chrome OS rocked the computing world to its core, but Acer has already snatched the privilege of being the first to ever come out with a Chromebook, or Chome OS-based netbook. The said Chromebook is set to be released in 2010, although the rest of the details are kept under wraps at this point.

This isn’t the first time Acer has played around with Google. The Acer Aspire D250 already has dual-boot capabilities, able to either run on Windows XP or Google Android. What Acer has in store for the computer world with the yet-unnamed Chromebook should be something to see.

Of course, Acer has to make sure their Chromebook is going to be worth the buy — chances are it won’t be the only Chromebook to flood the market in 2010. Already, hacks to install Chrome OS to existing netbooks are popping up, in addition to the simple fact that you can already test the Chrome OS on your laptop — and even try your hand in tweaking the code.

I suppose now’s not a bad time to start moving things onto the cloud?
