Acer has debuted the “e,” technically called the Acer Liquid e, and it packs a few interesting specs under its smart-looking hood. It sports Google Android 2.1, and runs on an under-clocked Snapdragon processor, timing in at 768MHz.
The “e” sports a 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen display (capacitive), and is powered by 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM, and a 1350 mAh Li-Po battery. It also sports a 5-MP camera — which is just about around standard for smartphones of its class.
Extras in the “e” include HSPA (3G) and great HD video playback for games and videos. Google Android 2.1 also adds a slew of new tools, giving greater functionality than Android phones not yet powered by Android 2.1 Mouse potatoes will likely appreciate the better browsing experience offered by Android 2.1′s HTML 5 support.
Other Android 2.1 upgrades include the following — five home screens by default, live wallpapers, a better keyboard layout with extended dictionary, and an upgraded Android browser. Should make for a solid all-around smartphone, especially if you’re a fan of everything Android.
