Acer 3D Projector

Acer has just released the H5360, a 3D projector that promises to turn your living room wall into a 3D screen. The system uses Nvidia’s 3D Vision technology, and requires a good PC with a compatible graphics card and special 3D glasses.

The system works by synchronizing the 3D shutter glasses with the PC. Each image on the 3D video being viewed is rendered twice (once for each glasses lens). The projector, working at 120Hz frequency, then shows odd-numbered frames to the right eye while at the same time, displaying even-numbered frames to the left eye. This gives the illusion of viewing something in real depth.

The glasses themselves are battery-powered and sync with the projector and PC via infrared. Unfortunately, you’ll have to buy the glasses separately from the projector.

The Acer H5360 3D projector supports a display resolution of 720p, a contrast ratio of 3,200:1 , and 2,500 ANSI Lumens brightness. It is out now, and costs around US$899.
