750GB HyperDrive iPad External Storage

If you find that the standard internal storage capacity of the Apple iPad just isn’t enough space to save your personal files, there is new device on the market that aims extend your storage space.

HyperDrive HDD is an external USB hard drive and the first that is compatible with the iPad. The device connects to your tablet by means of the camera connection kit and once connected, you can have up to an additional 750GB of storage space.

In addition to this, HyperDrive HDD also serves a second purpose as a multimedia card reader as it is compatible with 12 different memory cards. Developed by HyperMac, the unit tries to emulate the appearance of the iPad and takes the approach of minimalism when it comes daily operation. HyperDrive HDD includes a 3.2-inch display screen and there are a few buttons that will assist in navigating around the various menus.

The HyperDrive HDD sells for $249 and that’s without a hard drive. Buying a hard drive will set you back another $299 or $599 depending upon if you go with a small drive capacity (120GB) or a large drive (750GB). It’s definately not a cheap solution for adding extra storage to the iPad, but it is an option for those that really need more space.
