There never seems to be a shortage of success stories when it comes to Rovio and their franchise game, Angry Birds. This time around, the company has revealed just how successful their latest instalment of this franchise has been.

According to the announcement that was made earlier this morning, Rovio has confirmed that in the past 35 days that Angry Birds Space has been available, gamers have managed to download the game 50 million times. In addition to this, the game is currently in the top spot at the Apple App Store.

Rovio has also confirmed that these numbers have made Angry Birds Space the most popular release by the company ever. Not only is it the “fastest growing mobile game”, but it has surpassed all other versions of Angry Birds when it comes to total sales. The premise behind Angry Birds Space is exactly the same as past games. Users have the same birds attacking the pigs using areal assaults by means of slingshots, but there are twists. Seeing as this game does take place in space, gamers now have to account for gravitational fields. The new game originally had 60 levels but was later expanded by an additional 10 levels for both the Android and iOS.
