4.5 Million Copies Of EA Sports FIFA Soccer 13 Sold In 5 Days

Video games can be big business and EA Sports has another hit with the introduction of their latest sports themed video game, FIFA Soccer 13. This latest addition has been available for purchase for just five days now and in this time, the company has sold more then 4.5 million copies.

To put this number into perspective, FIFA Soccer 13 is now the best selling launch for EA this year. It is also the best selling video game launch in the history of the franchise. Europe has always been a major market for soccer (or English football) and within the United Kingdom, FIFA 13 sold 1.23 million copies within 2 days. To continue with the statistics, this game is also one of only two EA Sports games that have ever sold more then one million units within the UK within 24 hours.

Those that have bought the game have certainly put some stain on the EA servers with September 30th being the busiest day for Internet gaming for any EA software title. On this day, EA saw 800,000 people playing the game at the same time online. To date, a total of 66 million game sessions have also taken place and this translates to 600 million minutes of active play.
