Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) has launched three new pointing devices that are priced under $30 and include a BlueTrack sensor that allows them to work on unusual surface areas including glass.
Of the three new releases, two are wireless mice while the last one is a wired mouse. The first of the three is the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500, a mouse that comes with a small form factor, something that would be well suited for the netbook or notepad user. The 3500 is a three button scroll mouse that features an ambidextrous design with rubberized grips on the sides of the peripheral device. The unit also comes with a USB nano transceiver that works off of RF signals and should offer about 8 months of up time before recharging is required. This mouse is available in two colors, “Dragon Fruit Pink” and “Loch Ness Gray”.
Second on the list is the full sized Wireless Mouse 2000 that is slightly larger then the 3500 and comes with a tilting scroll wheel. It to comes with the Nano USB Transceiver.
Last on the list is the Comfort Mouse 4500 which is the only wired mouse out of Microsoft’s offerings for today. Unlike the previous two mice that offered mobility, this USB mouse with five customizable buttons has been developed for the stationary user who doesn’t want to fiddle with replacing batteries. The 4500 is available in “Poppy Red”, “Sea Blue”, “Strawberry Pink” and plain old fashion black although I would have preferred to have seen a catchy name like “stealth black”.
Both wireless mice will be available for $29.95 and the wired mouse will retail for $24.95.
