270,000 Evasi0n iOS 6.1 Jailbreak Downloads Crash Server

Apple fans have been waiting for an iOS 6.1 jailbreak tool for a while now and such a tool is now here. Known as Evasi0n, the download of this tool today has been so consistent that with 270,000 individual downloads, the download server was either slow or fully down. This tool works on both the iPad and the iPhone and once your iOS device has been jailbroken, you’ll be able to install third party software that may not necessarily be approved by Apple.

When you see such strong demand for a jailbreak tool like Evasi0n, there’s no doubt that a strong message is being sent to Apple and that message is that customers want more access to their iOS device. As we know, Apple is a highly regulated company and this regulation is seen in all facets of their activities including their app store. In fact, Apple will not include an app in the app store until they have reviewed it and approved it for download. On one hand, you can understand their high degree of regulation as it ensures that only qualified apps that will have no detrimental effects on an iOS device get approved, but as we know, the iPhone and the iPad are capable of much more.

Apple fans that decide to download and use the new tool to jailbreak their device will no longer be covered by Apple’s warranty, but you will be opening up your device to a host of new features and options that it regularly would not have.
