Mutlitouch touchscreen PC’s have been around for a while, but Apple had nothing to offer with that feature. Not that too many people minded — the novelty of the Magic Mouse and multitouch pads on MacBooks made up for the absence. But count on Apple not to leave any corner of the industry unrepresented.
Rumors are going around that Apple is out to announce a 22-inch multitouch iMac very soon. Should be very interesting to see how well a multitouch touchscreen PC works on the Mac platform — we thought we’d be seeing the feature in action on the (also) rumored iSlate tablet, but if the rumors are to be trusted, we’ll be getting both.
Apple will be announcing new and upcoming devices on their January 27 event. That should be the day when rumors that’ve been swirling for the past several months will be confirmed or debunked.
Can’t wait? I sure can’t. Let’s hope the new Apple toys to be unveiled next week will be just as good as, if not better than, the rumors say they will be.
