In early December, Samsung had confirmed that the company had sold 1 million of their Android powered Galaxy Tab devices. As we now approach the end of January, Samsung has once again announced their sales figures regarding the Android tablet.
As it stands now, there have been 2 million devices sold in the three months during which this tablet has been available for purchase. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is currently available for sale in 94 countries around the world and is accessible on more then 200 different mobile carriers. The device is also available for purchase as an unlocked unit. The numbers do seem good, but Samsung is still well behind the Apple iPad when it comes to sales and even though the iPad may be a year old, it is still a popular product and in high demand with the latest figures by Apple showing sales of roughly 7.33 million tablets in Q4 2010.
For the sake of comparison on how well the Galaxy Tab has been adopted around the world, the majority of sales, 500,000 in total, have been in Europe. North America is next on the top 3 list at 350,000 and Asian sales are at 330,000.
