The iPad Mini was announced this week to much public interest and it would appear that like many Apple products before it, the pint size tablet has already begun to develop a following. In fact, because of the interest in the smaller iOS tablet, Apple has confirmed that delivery for some models has been delayed by up to 14 days.
Today was the day that preorders were being accepted for the iPad Mini and those that are interested in any white model or the 16GB WiFi only black tablet are faced with a notice that shipping is now being pushed back from November 2nd to “two weeks”. Customers that are looking to buy any other iPad Mini model, be it the 32GB or 64GB model, will note that there are no delays, but shipping is only confirmed for “some areas” at this time. Exactly what this means is unclear and Apple has not provided any further information on this subject thus far.
It will be interesting to see just how the iPad Mini will impact overall revenues for the company. There are many reports that suggest that the success of the iPad Mini will come at the expense of the larger screen models. We’ll have to see just how everything comes out in the wash at their next quarterly revenues call.
